Solarplates are photosensitive plates that can be printed intaglio or relief. They can be exposed in natural sunlight or with artificial UV light. They are developed in water. Alone or combined with other printmaking techniques, they create prints of depth and beauty. Drawn, collaged and photographic imagery, both representational and abstract, work beautifully with these plates. In this workshop we will explore Solarplates, intaglio and relief inking and printing in a non-toxic environment. All levels of printmaking experience welcome.
